About Mr Bernard – Headteacher
I am deeply honoured to begin serving as the Headteacher of Cliffe Woods Primary School—a role I know will bring me immense pride and fulfilment.
From a young age, I was inspired by my grandmother, who was herself a dedicated Headteacher. Her passion for education sparked my own, and since beginning my teaching career in 2013, I have been committed to shaping the minds and futures of young learners. My career has been rooted in schools across Gravesham, where I developed a particular passion for teaching in Key Stage 1. Over the past decade, I have progressed from Class Teacher to Assistant Headteacher, and most recently, Interim Headteacher at Riverview Infant School.
After a successful period as Interim Head of School, I felt ready to embrace the rewarding challenge of permanent headship. Completing the National Professional Qualification for Headship last year further strengthened my leadership skills and prepared me for this exciting new chapter. I had the privilege of leading Culverstone Green Primary School in Meopham for nearly two years, taking over following a period of instability. I truly enjoyed every moment and was incredibly proud of the progress the school had made.
When the opportunity arose to lead Cliffe Woods Primary School, a school with an outstanding reputation, I knew it was too good to miss. I feel truly grateful to be part of such a vibrant and successful community and to uphold our shared commitment to ‘Excellence From All.’
It is a privilege to lead Cliffe Woods, and I am excited for the journey ahead, working alongside our dedicated staff, wonderful children and supportive families. Together, we will continue to nurture a love of learning, celebrate diversity, and provide a positive, inspiring environment where every child can thrive.
