It has been proven that having the right amount of energy is extremely important to children’s concentration and, ultimately, their ability to learn.
Before we opened our tuck shop, we had heard a number of children in Key Stage 2 complaining mid-morning that they are hungry.
After discussing the matter with a group of children, we decided that we would like to open a Tuck Shop at morning break for all children in Key Stage 2.
We have investigated various products and were really excited when we found a large range of ‘100% School Compliant’ products. These range from various juices and jellies to small cake bars and milkshakes.
Tuck is sold at morning break. Children in Key Stage 2 (only) can come to the dining hall and buy one snack to eat or drink at playtime; all items are 50p (correct money only please to save time. Please note that children will have to be responsible for their own money).
I hope you agree that this is a great way of making sure that our children are suitably ‘fuelled’ right up until lunchtime!
Obviously, as buying snacks from the tuck shop is not compulsory, snacks can be brought in from home but these need to be as healthy as possible please, with definitely no crisps, snacks containing nuts or seeds or chocolate bars (ie Dairy Milk, Galaxy etc).
Please note that, if and when products change or more are added, they will appear on the list below:
Various Juices: Lemon & Lime, Apple, Fruit Burst and Orange & Passion Fruit.
Orange and Strawberry Jellies,
Strawberry, Chocolate and Banana Milkshakes
Cake Bars: Lemon Drizzle, Flapjack, Chocolate Brownie, Bakewell
