Welcome to Hedgehog Class (Year 1)
Welcome to Year 1 Hedgehog class! Led by the class teacher, Miss Thomas and the fantastic teaching assistants, we have lots of exciting things to look forward to in our learning.
We continue to work on our phonic and reading skills using the Little Wandle reading scheme as well as exploring poems and books written a long time ago, along with some written more recently. We will be developing our number skills in Maths, building on what we learnt in Year R.
Some of the topics we cover in other subjects include learning about Queen Elizabeth II, finding out about what happened during the Plague, learning about the capital cities across the United Kingdom and finding out more about climate and weather.

Our timetable can be downloaded below. Here, parents and pupils have the opportunity to view the class schedule to see the day-to-day routine including the range of curriculum that is covered. We have found that children with SEND have responded well to visually seeing the structure of the day ahead.
