Kaylan is a superstar and has been signed for the Tottenham Hotspur under-12 women’s football team. Well done Kaylan, we at Cliffe Woods could not be prouder of your achievement and can not wait to see what the future holds.

On Friday 17th May, Aubree (Year 3) and the other winners of the Aletheia Speaking Competition enjoyed a prize visit to Parliament. They were given a guided tour by Cllr Jordan Meade of Gravesham Council, who highlighted key sites including the Victoria Tower, Westminster Hall and the Sovereign’s Entrance.

Inside one of the chambers of the House of Lords, the pupils had an audience with Viscount Waverley, also known as JD. They asked insightful questions and shared snippets of their presentations, impressing JD with their chosen topics.

It was a fantastic learning opportunity and bonding experience for the pupils and staff of Aletheia Academies Trust.

Well Done to our pupils who attended a Mental Health awareness event with Mrs Tinkler and Miss Clear.

Their pictures representing `My Voice matters` were chosen by Medway council and the lucky winners received a voucher for Ninja Warrior.

Well done to all the children involved in raising money for Barney, our Therapy dog, and the Canine Concern charity.

Lots of cakes, bracelets and bookmarks were made all week by the pupils and sold to their peers and staff.

The children raised an amazing £164.87!

We are delighted to say that we have another budding success story in football! Mason in Year 6 has been signed for Chatham Town Under 12s, and he plays up front. We are very proud of his achievements!

We have just held two mothers’ day tea afternoons, which were very successful. Family members enjoyed scones, jam and cream as well as a welcome cuppa, served by their children. They also all received a growing daffodil arrangement, which looked beautiful and will give pleasure in the future as the bulbs continue to flower and multiply. The atmosphere was lovely, and we would like to extend our thanks to all the staff who worked so hard to make it happen, and in particular our fabulous administration team.

This World Book Day, we have had so much fun celebrating reading! Staff and pupils were invited to come dressed as someone from a book who has inspired them and it was great to see the range of costumes, from David Attenborough to Emmeline Pankhurst!
The children also took part in a whole school Where’s Wally? hunt. The reading ambassadors did a great job of hiding the Wallys all over our playgrounds and then handing out certificates to those who managed to spot one!

Classes also spent time in the afternoon reading with each other. Year 6 really enjoyed reading to the children in Year 2!
